Hitting icon next to room name should open panel, not change light

The lighting choices are harder to access now, and when I hit the icon next to the room name with the light behind it to indicate it is on, I expected to be able to choose the light scheme I wanted for the room, not for it to change. I also don't know why it changed to that particular setting because I can't see a place to set defaults yet. Is that part still hidden and coming in a future release?
After it did change, I had to go looking for where my lighting options were, and couldn't easily find it. The word 'panel' is a little bit obscure. Maybe the word 'colors' would be more obvious to call that section, with a more obvious bulb icon?

Hi Maria and thanks for your comment! :)
Let me make sure I understood you well, so I can pass that feedback to the team: when tapping on the left of the tile of a room, specifically on the room icon and "backlight", you would expect the control panel for that room to open so that you can easily change the color/mode of the whole room in one go, instead of the current behavior which opens the list of the devices in the room for finer control. Am I getting this right?
In other words you would prefer that the behavior of the tile would be split in two: one side to open the control panel, one side to open the list of devices?
For "I also don't know why it changed to that particular setting because I can't see a place to set defaults yet. Is that part still hidden and coming in a future release?", are you referring to the list of light modes shown in the Quick Control section of top of the room? If yes, this will indeed become editable soon.
Finally, feedback understood about the panel icon and wording, we'll have a look at that :) thanks!

Antonin Carre: Hey Antonin! So, yes and no. I was talking about the icon circled in the screenshot attached. When I hit it, it doesn't just open a lighting control panel. Before it does that, it physically dims all of my living room lights! Haha. It turns out that it ALSO does the same thing when I hit the words 'Living Room', so I was mistaken thinking it was only that icon doing it. Hitting the room's button anywhere dims all of the lights in the room being clicked on. It does this for all of my rooms, not just the living room. I would never want it to change the state of my lights when I was trying to access my lighting choices.
Then it's hard to figure out how to undim them when the panel opens because there's no group light option, only individual lights, and none of the color choices display. They're hidden behind another click under 'panel'. I wish the colors were featured first because that's what I almost always want to change, not the individual light statuses.

Maria Schmidt: alright, understood! Sorry I didn't get it the first time, I hadn't seen that issue before!
In theory you should only see brightness adjustments happen if you:
- specifically tap on the brightness bar in the lower part of the tile
- tap and hold anywhere on the tile, then drag the bar left or right.
I think we have one bug left to fix, where long pressing the tile triggers a brightness change. But short press should never change the brightness, unless you've tapped exactly on the brightness bar. May we ask which phone you are using? In case there is some specific issue with it.
When it comes to making room control easier, we will make the Quick Control ribbon customizable so you can pin there all of your most used light modes for the room and access them in one tap. Thanks!

Antonin Carre: I've recently switched from Android to an iPhone. I can't seem to access the wiz 2 app from it. Can I still participate or no? Do I need a new invite specific to iphone users?

Maria Schmidt: Hi! You should be able to find the iOS link in our original email.
Otherwise, just use this one :) https://testflight.apple.com/join/jBKWObEl
thanks!

Antonin Carre: Thanks! I’m in. So on my iPhone, when I hit a room button like ‘bedroom’ it still affects my lights instead of just opening up the control panel. When I hit it tonight, it made my lamp brighter before opening the room options It does this no matter where I hit the button.
