Home button, back to all rooms vs room view

I 100% agree that tapping the Home button should immediately return you to the display of Rooms.
I have lost count already of the number of times I’ve tapped it, expecting that to happen.

Mark Wahlert: Feedback taken :) it's in the plans, we are gradually improving/revamping the navigation. You should see some improvements in the upcoming releases, first with the handling of the "back" action, and then with the Home tab

Back button

Back button literally goes back through all the different places you've been in the app. Should just go back out of whatever you're in, then maybe back to home, and then just exit. If you've clicked on settings, automations, home, etc fifteen times back and forth, the back button shouldn't go through that in reverse order.

Hi Jeroen, and thank you very much for the detailed feedback :)
Indeed, the current handling of the "system" back button is not ideal at all. This is something we have already identified, and we should be bringing navigation improvements in one of the upcoming updates.
Among the options we are investigating: "back" would go back in navigation hierarchy within the tab you are currently, but would not change tab.
examples:
Light mode selection for one device < room control view < home control view < exit
Schedule end time < Schedule details < List of schedules < Exit (or alternatively back to home tab)
Do you think this type of behavior would resolve the issue for you?
Thanks!

Antonin Carre: Yes, that feels like a logical sequence for the back button.

Jeroen van der Maat: We've just pushed a new version with some changes to the navigation logic. It's not the final version yet, so you may still expect a couple of glitches here and there, but hopefully you'll notice some improvement :) let us know what you think!

Hi James! Thanks for testing our beta and thanks for the valuable feedback!
You're definitely hitting the nail on the head with this one, because navigation improvements are among the first things we have marked down for the upcoming releases.
We definitely agree that going back to the "last visited control page" when tapping on "Home" can occasionally be an unpleasant surprise, especially if you have been going in the fine control, drilling down for a few screens.
We are evaluating different options, among which the two you mentioned. You should be able to test a different behavior for this button within a few weeks. :)
Thanks again!

Antonin Carre: maybe have a back button as you already have, AND a home button similar to web pages … a hamburger button… web designers know exactly what I mean!
Antonin Carre
John wardigo: thanks for the idea :) might be a bit tricky in terms of how to fit it in the interface, and maybe a bit "over the top" in the sense that there are only that many levels you can drill down to, or go back from. But I don't wanna speak on the behalf of our UX designers! Team will review this, and we'll try to come up with some harmonious solution :)
